5 Nights and 6 Days
Destinations Covered : Paro – Thimphu - Punakha - Paro
Paro - Thimphu
You will be assisted at Paro airport and later drive straight to Thimphu. On reaching, check in at your hotel. After brief leisure proceed to visit the National Library, Memorial Chorten, National Textile Museum and Folk Heritage Museum. Evening visit Memorial Chorten, the stupa was built in 1974 in the memory of Bhutan‘s third King. Overnight stay in your hotel.
Thimphu
Morning take a short drive to visit Lhakhang. Afterwards drive to visit Takin Preserve/Mini zoo. On the way back to town visit Trashichhodzong fortress/monastery. Overnight stay in Thimphu.
Punakha
Morning drive to reach Punakha Valley, en-route visiting the 17th century Simtokha Dzong monastery. Later drive down to Punakha Valley and visit Wangdiphodrang Dzong. Later in the afternoon, enjoy a hike to an ancient monastery on the hilltop behind the lodge or the farmhouse and spa.
Punakha – Paro (124 kms/4hrs)
Morning after breakfast drive to Paro, descending back down from Dochu La. On reaching Paro, check in at the Hotel. After brief leisure, proceed to visit Ta Dzong, once a watchtower, built to defend Rinpung Dzong during inter-valley wars of the 17th century. It holds nice collection of art, relics, religious thangkha paintings and Bhutan's exquisite postage stamps. Stay overnight in Paro.
Paro
Morning after breakfast, proceed to visit Tiger Monastery (hiking trip). It is the most renowned monasteries of Bhutan. This place has been recognized as one of the most sacred places in Bhutan. If you are not keen to hike, you may take an excursion to Chela la pass (alt 4200 meter). The Chele La view point offers magnificent view of 7314 meter Chomolhari peaks & Jichu Drakey. It is about one and half hour drive from Paro city to the pass. Stay overnight in Paro.
Departure
After breakfast checkout and transfer straight to Paro airport for your onward journey.
